Introducing Leia! She's the absolute go-getter behind swimwear label, Loleia. After starting her label in 2020, Leia has already seen the likes of many famous IT girls snapping up her swim, including none other than Hailey Bieber! Find out who she would love to have at a dinner party and which celebrity she is manifesting to wear her pieces. A big thank you to Leia for taking the time out of her busy schedule to chat with us. 

1. Hello honey! For those that don’t know you, can you tell us who you are and what you do?

Hi angels!!! My name is Leia Perini and I am the owner and creator of my baby Loleia Swim. 

2. What's your sign baby? 

This could be bias, but the best sign of them all, Aquarius!  

3. What are three words your besties would use to describe you Leia...

 Too honest, a little crazy, and giving/generous! 

4. What was the inspiration behind starting a swimwear line?

I have always been inspired by the 80s and 90s. I love love love the use of bold colours and prints used throughout this era, I always found that I struggled to find anything similar in our day and age. When I was 18 I lived in London and would be obsessed with buying vintage swimwear from all of the amazing stores in Brick Lane! I thought to myself I wish I could recreate swim like this - I was very insecure and didn’t back myself when I was younger so I filed this dream away. In 2020 (7 years later) I pulled her back out and thought you know what let's give it a go! Here we are. 

5. Tell us about a moment you’ve had with Loleia thus far that has really been a game changer for you...

 I have two moments, the first was our first overseas campaign which we shot in Puglia (This also featured MM). This campaign was so well received and the imagery was just amazing, it really put us on the map as a serious business. The second came shortly after when my style icon Hailey Bieber was photographed wearing our swimwear set “Fruity in Cabo” on a yacht with her husband Justin in….. CABO!! How’s that! 

6. We have so much respect for solo founders, we know how hard it can be juggling it all! Do you have any type of mentor for you and the business?

 Hmmm great question. I wouldn’t say I have a particular mentor but I call on the help of my friends to ground me and give me advice. I also have a great team of women around me in the office who help me to learn, grow and push myself and the business. 

7. What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? How do you keep moving forward?

 I just read this question out loud in the office and my 2IC jokingly said “yell and scream” haha, I am very emotional so people often know when I am feeling overwhelmed. I like to take a step back, try and centre myself with my why and do something fun to bring my mood back! This usually works, I also have to remind myself that life is full of ups and downs and you just have to ride them. 

8. Tell us your favourite quote or one that resonates with you at your current point of life  

I have 2 again! One that I read recently and an oldie! "Life is what happens when you’re busy making plans." Life has literally laughed at my plans recently so this rung true for me.

10. We believe in manifesting... Any 2023 goals or dreams you want to say out loud?

Kendall Jenner! Please wear our swim, we’re waiting! 

11. Thank you for forever wearing our jewels like such a goddess! What are your most favourite MM styles?

My all time favourite is the Elixir Ring! I purchased this almost 2 years ago and wear it out every time! The Kajol Earrings - absolutely stunning we used them in our Puglia Campaign. Basically everything is so beautiful!!! I also have my eyes on the Carolina Earrings. The girls never miss <3
